In the Race to Simplicity; Slow Down

As a communicator, I have spent the better part of 25 years working alongside some incredible people that have taught me the importance and value of communicating with clarity and simplicity.

Why simplicity? Because complex business strategies are costly to implement and complex brand experiences frustrate clients and consumers, leading to opportunities lost.

What I hope to share are simple, easy to consume, practical suggestions that can guide you on your journey toward communicating simply. I'd like to begin with one of my favorite best practices;

Slow down.

Research shows that the "Relaxation Response", the act of closing your eyes, slowing down your mind, body, and breathing; can can be instrumental in literally inducing anti-oxidation and anti-inflammatory responses in your body.

"With less static, less noise, traditional cognitive restructuring enters, people listen better. It's a more fertile environment, so you can do what you are so well trained to do -- the cognitive work, the positive ideation. It's a door opening to allow you to help change people's lives." Herbert Benson, MD

Who knew slowing down could be so powerful?
